Essays, Literature Reviews and Reports

What is it?

Essays, Literature Reviews and Reports are all types of written assessment that you may be asked to complete during your studies.  As with all your assessments, it is important that you understand what type of assignment you are being asked to write and that you have taken note of any specific instructions regarding style, format or structure.

Why do I need to learn it?

The type of assessment that you are asked to complete will have been chosen by your lecturer to allow you to demonstrate certain skills.  An essay lets you demonstrate that you can form an academic argument; a literature review shows that you can research, read and understand the relevant literature; a report shows that you can communicate relevant information in an appropriate way.
