Whether you're looking to build new skills or strengthen ones you already have, the University of Derby is here to support you every step of the way. That’s why we created Develop@Derby - our friendly and comprehensive resource designed to help you build the academic and employability skills you need to succeed at university and into the early stages of your career.
We have identified ten essential skills, called the Develop@Derby Skill Set that you’ll develop during your time at university, helping you thrive in your studies, stand out in your career, and make a positive impact on the world around you. You’ll find practical guides, LinkedIn Learning courses, and SAGE Student Success resources, all carefully chosen to help you get the most out of your time at University of Derby. We also offer tools to assess your current skills, quizzes to test your knowledge, and plenty of useful hints and tips to make studying feel easier and more rewarding.
If you’d like to learn more or build your skills in a more interactive way, you can join our co-curricular workshops which are available both in-person and online. These sessions are a great chance to meet other students, share ideas, and learn from our experienced, friendly staff.
