Large File submissions

The Large File Submission is generally only intended for submissions containing large media files over 2GB.

  • Be aware that the upload process may take some time depending on your settings and internet connection.
  • Remember to add your student number to your filename.

Submitting to a Large File submission point

Navigate to the module and expand the Module Assessment and Submission section to access the submission point.

Click on the submission point to start your submission.

You might be asked to sign in to your university account using your university username and password (...@unimail.derby.ac.uk).

Enter your university Office 365 username and password.

You will then see the Large File submission page and any previous submissions.

To begin a new submission, click on the New Submission button.

Click on the Choose files button.

A file browser will open. Select your assignment file(s) and open it/them.

Click Upload to send the files to the submission point.

A progress wheel will appear.

During this process please do not:

  • Close your browser tab or browser window.
  • Switch off your computer.

Disconnect from the internet.

The upload may take several minutes to several hours depending on the speed of your internet connection as shown in the table below.

When the upload is completed a confirmation screen will appear.

An email receipt will be sent your university email address. This will be your proof of submission.

Do not delete it as you will need it in case of a query about your submission.

Close the tab.

If you need to replace a file, repeat this process, ensuring that you are uploading before the deadline.

You can see your score and feedback by clicking on the Gradebook tab in the Blackboard module and finding the assessment.

The score will be shown in this window, and you can click on the speech bubble to view the full feedback in a side window.
