Holly provides advice and guidance on the Open Research and Scholarly Communications landscape and is the main contact at the university for all matters relating to Open Access. She monitors compliance with the University's Publication and Open Access Policy and external funding organisations requirements around the dissemination of outputs. She is an Open Access expert who is passionate about alternative options to Gold Open Access, such as the Green and Diamond routes to achieve Open publication. She also manages and oversees the University's Institutional Repository service UDORA; the Green route to achieve Open Access. As a service, UDORA aims to support sharing and dissemination of scholarly outputs of all members of staff and students at Derby, communicating these to a global audience.
She delivers a range of online sessions on various aspects of scholarly communications including Open Access and Rights Retention, increasing your online visibility as a researcher, and recognising predatory publishers. These are all available to register for via LibCal and the University of Derby Research System. She can also deliver 1-1 or group sessions to suit your needs so please get in touch should you wish to arrange something with Holly and she will be more than happy to accommodate! Holly works collaboratively with teams across the University to help develop Derby's research culture via the promotion of Open Research practices.
