This guide contains some Library related information that will be most useful in the first couple of weeks of your very first semester. Returning students may also find this useful as a refresher.

Software you have access to while you're at university

Via Course Resources

While you're studying at the University of Derby you will have access to the full version of certain software which you can download from Course Resources - our online learning platform.

  1. Log in to your UDo account
  2. Click on the tile for Course Resources
  3. Under the heading, 'Useful Links', click on the button for 'Software Downloads' from the list

You should then see all of the resources which you can download and use for free as long as you're on a programme of study at the university.

Via IT Services website

You can also download the antivirus software used by the university - Trend Micro - to use on up to three devices and if you go to the, 'How to browse the web securely', page you can access the link to the request form and instructions from there. It is only available to members of the university so you will need your university credentials to request the activation code for the software.

IT Services provide a wide range of help guides and a live chat support services on their Student Support pages, so do make sure you set aside some time to take a look for yourself and see what may be useful to you.
