The Library has a live chat service embedded in every page of these library guides. Look for the little icon in the bottom right of each page. If the icon is green, that means someone is there to help! If the icon is red, no-one is available right now, but you can still submit your question to be answered later.
Every programme has an Academic Librarian assigned to it. The Academic Librarian for Computing and Maths programmes is Hazel Roome.
You can contact Hazel via email at h.Roome@derby.ac.uk
The Library runs a programme of online workshops, webinars and drop-ins throughout the academic year; you may hear it referred to as Develop@Derby. These workshops cover topics such as: library research, citing and referencing, maths skills, exam revision, report writing, presentation skills, note taking, critical thinking and evaluation, using Google more effectively, and more!
You can take a look at the Develop@Derby calendar here to see details of upcoming events. Some events are free to just drop-in, others may require booking.
If you cannot attend a workshop due to timing, please register anyway. We record all workshops (not the drop-ins) and email a link to the recording to everyone who registered, so even if you cannot attend you will still have access to the recording.
Our Skills team have created a wide range of help guides covering the skills you will develop over your time at University including academic writing, time management, presentation skills and more.
You can access the skills guides and resources from the Develop@Derby hub.
