Introduction to the Library: Professional and Support Staff

Our Library Teams

The Academic Enhancement Team is comprised of Academic Librarians and Academic Enhancement Coordinators.

Academic Librarians liaise with the Colleges and professional services Departments across the University and are one of the main points of contact with the library, for help and advice about getting the most from our resources. We design and deliver academic skills initiatives in support of the University’s learning and teaching priorities.

Academic Enhancement Coordinators support the Academic Librarians in the design and delivery of content which contributes to building academic skillsets across the University.

The Content & Digital Services team manage and support a range of Library systems, services and functions.  Many of these are 'behind the scenes' and include Acquisitions, Inter Library Loans, Discovery, Reading Lists, Copyright and Digitisation. Their mission to is to provide accessible resources in the best possible formats for our users in the most convenient way.

The Research & Publication Practice team supports research academics and students at the university. We work closely with colleagues across the library, Innovation and Research and Colleges. We offer weekly training sessions for research staff and students, providing an opportunity to have guidance and support on a variety of areas related to resources for research, and scholarly communications.  You can find out more about what we do by visiting our Research Guides.

The User Experience team make sure that our users get a fantastic service as soon as they walk through the door or contact the library for help, advice and support.  They manage the day to day operation of the library making sure that everything runs as smoothly as possible.  As well as staffing the Library reception desks they staff the Enquiry service and Live Chat systems, make sure that books get back to the shelves and are there when users need advice and direction.
