Get ready for the feedback

Reviewers comments can be short, sharp, negative and sometimes tactless (especially if they are writing the review under busy conditions). Remember to set your expectations to the appropriate level, and remember the job of the reviewer is to review based on two things -

  • their knowledge of the discipline; and,
  • their experience of publishing.

It is unlikely that the reviewer will have as much knowledge as you on the paper's content, however your job as the author is to produce a clear and sound research paper.
