Canva is a free tool that students can use to create simple graphics, posters and infographics. It allows beginners to make good posters quickly but the tools are limited in the free version.
Trello is a free app that you can use to manage your work and group work. There is a paid for version with additional features. Trello is recommended by guests Matt Gilooly and Caroline Ball.
Adobe Creative Cloud is a suite of Apps used for creating digital content and media. These apps are used by professionals and do cost money. There is student discount available on these.
These apps are the ones I use but are daunting for beginners, although once you get your head around them they have more functionality than other video and media apps.
JISC Discovery Tool is an tool that allows you to assess your digital skills to find out what areas you are stronger in and which you are weaker in. You can then use this information to target your skills development.
