NIHR Evidence produces plain language summaries of research funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research. These summaries provide clinicians with actionable findings to improve healthcare and the public with accessible health information. They include Alerts (summaries of single studies) and Collections (bodies of research on a particular theme).
In addition to the plain language summary you will also find a link to the original paper so that you can (where the university library has a subscription to the article) read the research paper yourself.
There is also the option of becoming a reviewer of papers which are scheduled to become Alerts. This means that as you read the paper you would be expected to reflect on the strengths of the paper and also if and how it could influence practice going forward.
If you would like to become a reviewer, or would like some more information, have a look at the, 'Become a reviewer'. webpage for details.
Websites are a useful resource for a broad range of information that may be difficult to find elsewhere such as clinical guidelines, policy documents, patient information and statistics.
