Finding books and eBooks

eBooks from other resources

SAGE Knowledge is a collection of handbooks, encyclopaedias, and some textbooks across a variety of disciplines.

You can browse by broad subject area but, as there are some older historical texts in the collection, it's recommended that you sort the results by Date originally published rather than by Relevance. It's also a good idea to change the number of results on a page to the maximum of 100.

CareKnowledge is a health and social care resource which is not searched by Library Plus.

It contains a variety of resources: articles, reports, case law, and also a small selection of eBooks from the publisher Pavilion. These eBooks are not listed on the library catalogue and they won't come up on Library Plus so you will only be able to find them and read them if you go into CareKnowledge directly.

Some of the titles currently available are:

'Towards outstanding: a guide to excellence in health and social care'

'Autism and intellectual disability in adults' (2 vols.)

'Anxiety and depression in people with intellectual disabilities'

'How to communicate effectively in health and social care'

There are more than these titles listed here so do remember to go and have a look.
