General and Key Subject Resources for Psychology, Forensic Psychology, Ergonomics, Counselling & Psychotherapy

Welcome to the School of Psychology Library Guide

Bitmoji of Librarian saying hello

This is your guide to finding and using the best Library resources for programmes within the School of Psychology (psychology, forensic psychology, ergonomics, counselling & psychotherapy)

The side-navigation bar will direct you towards the resources and guidance for different types of research, such as finding and using books, eBooks, academic journal articles and more.

You will also find lists of the key resources the Library subscribes to which are of use to these programmes, as well as links for other useful websites outside of the Library.

The Referencing tab will direct you to Cite Them Right, our primary referencing support resource and this provides examples in both the Harvard style (which most programmes in the College use) as well as APA (if you're doing a psychology programme or module you may need to use this style instead.) There is also a brief section on reference management software which, if you're doing lots of research, or you have a lot of references to organise, you may find useful to investigate.

The link for Study Skills will take you to our Study Skills homepage, where you can find guides on academic writing, note taking, presentation skills and more. There is a mix of resource types so you won't just find lots of text, there are also videos and podcasts around study and academic skills. There's also a link to our new Skills for Study resource which is well worth a look.

And if you find you need help, just click the Help Me link to learn about the various ways you can contact us for more information and support, or use the contact options in the box on this page.
