How can we help?

Every programme has an Academic Librarian assigned to it. The Academic Librarian for Education programmes is Steven Bembridge.

You can contact Steven via email at library@derby.ac.uk

Or you can arrange an appointment:

The Library runs a programme of online workshops, webinars and drop-ins throughout the academic year; you may hear it referred to as Develop@Derby. These workshops cover topics such as: library research, citing and referencing, maths skills, exam revision, report writing, presentation skills, note taking, critical thinking and evaluation, using Google more effectively, and more!

You can take a look at the Develop@Derby calendar here to see details of upcoming events. Some events are free to just drop-in, others may require booking.

If you cannot attend a workshop due to timing, please register anyway. We record all workshops (not the drop-ins) and email a link to the recording to everyone who registered, so even if you cannot attend you will still have access to the recording.

Our Study Skills team have created a wide range of help guides covering the skills you will develop over your time at University.

Click on the link for the Study Skills pages in the left-hand side-bar, or come along to one of the workshops - and why not check out the Skills videos on the Library YouTube channel?

Also have a look at the new Skills for Study package which is packed full of helpful hints and tips on everything from critical thinking to reading and note taking
