Why might I need this database?
JSTOR is a very large database of journal articles, book, and primary sources that cover many disciplines—social sciences, psychology, healthcare, and engineering. But it also contains a large collection of history research that incorporates the broader themes of the database.
PLEASE NOTE: JSTOR allows you to search for 'all' content and for content 'only available to Derby students.' JSTOR does not provide all its content to Derby students. Also, the content that it does provide will not belong to the latest years. All titles and abstracts, though, will be available for you to see—irrespective of whether Derby has access or not.

How do I access JSTOR?
You can access it from the Databases list on the Library homepage. Just search under 'J' for JSTOR Journals, and you will find it. Alternatively, you can follow the highlighted link here.
How does it relate to Library Search?
JSTOR does provide its content to Library Search. This means that if you search Library Search, then you should 'theoretically' be searching JSTOR. But, I would advise searching JSTOR separately, too, as you will have greater control of the search functionality. The key message, though, is make sure you're thinking about JSTOR when doing research.
