There are lots of ways to copy content but not all of them are allowed if the work is copyright protected, for example:

  • Photocopying

  • Scanning

  • taking a photo on your phone / camera - such as, photographing the cover / contents of a book or a temporary artwork in a gallery / museum

  • copying or downloading content from a website into your essay or dissertation

  • emailing something you have copied

  • reproducing images

  • filming - such as, filming a show in a cinema / theatre, filming musicians

  • recording or downloading - such as, music or films
