The aim of this framework is to establish a set of skills and competencies which can be continuously developed across the student journey. Additionally, it can be used to raise awareness of the significance of information literacy and it serves as a useful tool for colleagues when integrating information literacy skills into the curriculum.
The academic librarian team can work collaboratively with academics to design and deliver information literacy development, at critical junctures, within programmes and modules. Our teaching sessions and resources, both embedded and co-curricular, are mapped to the information literacy framework and provide opportunities for students to develop these key skills. For more details, see the support for academics guide.
