Gale Literature

Why might I need this database?

Gale Literature is collection of Gale's own literary databases. Gale is an important academic publisher, and Gale Literature is a one-stop destination to search multiple sources.

What content does it include?

The databases in Gale Literature include:

  • Literary Criticism
  • Literature Resource Centre
  • Contemporary Authors
  • LitFinder
  • Scribner Writers' Series
  • Author Critical Introductions

How do I access Gale Literature?

You can access it from the Databases list on the Library homepage. Just search under 'G', and you will find it. Alternatively, you can follow the highlighted link here.

How does it relate to Library Search?

Gale Literature does provide its content to Library Search. This means that if you search Library Search, then you should 'theoretically' be searching Gale Literature. But, I would advise searching Gale Literature separately, too, as you will have greater control of the search functionality. The key message, though, is make sure you're thinking about Gale Literature when doing research.
