The Develop@Derby guides can be accessed from the Library web page as shown in the image below:

You can use the drop-down menu beneath Support OR use the Develop@Derby drop-down from the top menu bar. 

Links to all the Develop@Derby guides can be found on the home page.

Like the Subject guides, the Develop@Derby guides act as a first point of call for support on a wide range of skills.  

The Guides are arranged into 9 key themes:

  • Digital Skills

  • Maths and Numeracy 

  • Academic Wellbeing

  • Your Future, Start Now

Within each themed section you will find several guides on specific topics; these guides will include: 

  • Tips and general advice,  

  • Information and links to book-based resources held in the Library,  

  • Links to audio and video files created by our in-house team and hosted on YouTube and other podcasting websites.

  • Links to LinkedIn Learning courses

  • Links to external resources of relevance to the topic. 

  • Links to information provided by other University services

ACTIVITY: Go to the link for Writing at University and select the link to ‘Writing Skills – Interactive module’.

Sign up to the Bloomsbury Skills for Study resource using your staff email. 

Look at the module called ‘Writing Skills’ and have a go at the diagnostic test. 

YouTube channel

The Skills team also produce a wide range of podcasts and videos which are hosted on their YouTube channel.
