A Guide for New Staff

About This Guide

Welcome to the University of Derby Library!

This guide has been created for academic staff to serve as a brief introduction to library services and resources.

Every College in the University has a designated academic librarian, who is your first contact for the library. If you have any questions about Library Services, feel free to contact them, or our Library Enquiry Service. Our staff will be happy to answer questions, or refer you to our colleagues within the Centre for Excellence in Learning & Teaching (CELT) with the relevant expertise, or simply welcome you to the University of Derby.

This guide will provide a brief overview and web links about the Library Service (the links below correspond to the tabs above):

Locations: Library resources and services are available online and across five physical locations: the main University Library at Kedleston Road, as well as smaller libraries at our Britannia Mill campus, at the Buxton campus, and at our Leek and Chesterfield sites.

Services: Learn about academic librarians and other experienced staff who can help you with your support and informational needs.

Resources: Visit this page to find quick access to thousands of books, journals and online collections.

Facilities: Learn about the facilities available in all of our Library sites.
