Read and Write 12

Text Help Read and Write is available from the Apps Anywhere area; use the link to Apps anywhere or click on the ITS tile in UDo to find the Software downloads information.

Staff can download Read and Write 12 from the Apps Anywhere icon on their staff devices.

  • Read and Write 12 is for Windows 10.  This version is for on-campus use only.

Read and Write offers a full suite of tools including read aloud features, highlighting and reading text as you type, voice recognition software to type as you talk, etc.  You can also scan sections of web pages to create Pdf documents, make audio files in MP3 format and use coloured highlighters to help you organise your work and reading.

When you download the package you will see a toolbar of icons.  You can position this anywhere on your screen.

HELP and Support

Texthelp produce a range of help videos which are available on Youtube.  Videos on Youtube.

This will open in a new window and includes guides for using Read and Write with Chrome, with Windows and how to use other features of the software.
