The Research Publication and Open Access Policy, approved by Academic Board in January 2024, is a revision of the Policy previously approved by Academic Board in May 2022. This revised version, includes the principles to support the University’s position on Rights Retention and the principles by which Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) should be used in the preparation of research publications in addition to the ORCiD / UDORA Application Programming Interface (API).
The Policy and the associated Procedures document have been considered by the Library Senior Leadership Team, Academic Librarians, the Publication and Bibliometrics Working Group, Chairs of College Research Committees, the University Professorial Council (UPC), People, Experience and Culture (PEC), Legal, Governance and Assurance Services (LGAS), the local branch of the University and College Union and the Union of Students and the University Innovation and Research Committee (UIRC) prior to submission to Academic Board.
