Storytelling
‘Storytelling’ in academia is a popular mechanism through which students can not only create stories to reflect on their own learning and aide revision but can be used as a tool to present findings to an audience. Storytelling skills will transfer to your future employability where you can use the power of stories to inspire teammates or prospective clients.
Storytelling requires the speaker to create a relatable and engaging storyline, which includes challenges, setbacks, and resilience.
‘Our brains tend to recall experiences or stories that have a strong emotional element to them. The emotional components of stories are what helps them to be remembered.’ Reynolds, G. (2020)
