At the University of Derby, the College of Business, Law & Social Sciences are a designated Carbon Literate Organisation (CLO Bronze & Silver,) and we have also achieved Carbon Literate Educator Bronze, a new accreditation for Educational Institutions.
Carbon Literacy is defined as “An awareness of the carbon dioxide costs and impacts of everyday activities, and the ability and motivation to reduce emissions, on an individual, community and organisational basis.”
Carbon Literacy is a term used to describe an awareness of climate change and the climate impacts of mankind’s everyday actions. It covers climate change, carbon footprints, how you can do your bit, and why it’s relevant to you and those around you.
