Enactus is a global organisation dedicated to creating projects that address the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The organisation works with a variety of partners and sponsors who support these initiatives by providing funding and mentorship.
Enactus also organises pitching competitions, where teams present their projects for a chance to win funding or additional mentorship. At the University of Derby, we have our own Enactus group that are working on a variety of projects under the 17 SDG’s.
The Enactus group are currently undertaking three projects, these are:
Botso which has promoted sustainability by repurposing glass jars into candles, encouraging recycling in student accommodations and leading to the installation of new recycling bins.
Role Resolve which has provided over 200 hours of community engagement, using therapeutic table-top role-playing games to support neuro-diverse adolescents in building confidence, self-exploration, and social connections.
The Money Project which has empowered young people with essential financial literacy skills, teaching budgeting, revenue generation, and investment strategies to help break the cycle of debt. Together, these initiatives reflect our commitment to creating lasting, positive change while equipping students and communities with the skills and knowledge to thrive.
