Getting the most from Subject Databases

Cinahl Ultimate is the key resource for nursing and allied health and covers subjects such as: nursing, public health, health promotion, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, some social work and social welfare material and more.

This is the highest level version of the database and, as such, has more full text articles than others, and includes more international content. It also has non-journal content i.e., Quick Lessons, Evidence Based Care sheets, and Continuing Education Modules.

This database has a unique subject heading thesaurus, based on MeSH, which is searchable alongside the standard abstract / title search. Using the thesaurus search is most useful when doing advanced searches for postgraduate and above research.
