AMED

AMED is  produced by the Health Care Information Service out of the British Library and is a database of alternative medicine resources and will be useful to students and practitioners in a wide range of discipline fields which include occupational therapy, physiotherapy, complementary therapies, and palliative care, among others. Content coverage is basic records from over 500 - mostly European - journals, many of which are not indexed by other health or biomedical databases,

This database has a unique subject heading thesaurus which is searchable alongside the standard abstract / title search. Using the thesaurus search is most useful when doing advanced searches for postgraduate and above research.
